Marigold

Every season has its signature colour, and this one will be no different. The ’it’ colour has presented itself on the catwalk, and it will truly brighten your day. Saturated and sunny yellow shades were seen all over the runways this season. From bright details, such as shoes and accessories, to alluring jumpsuits and summer dresses, this beautiful yellow tone is an incredibly chic look in itself and it is a perfect addition to any bright and airy spring/summer wardrobe.

Printed Headgear

Another trend that fashion designers gladly adopted this season was printed headgear. Groovy bucket hats, ‘70s inspired headscarves and resort-ready headwear were gracing all of the runways shows this month. It seems that busy prints and vibrant colours are not only reserved for statement pieces anymore. This trend continues to gain popularity, as it is perfect for elevating any summer outfit into a fun and highly fashionable look.

Neon colours

Bright neons were often gracing the catwalks this month in every shade imaginable, from a few outfit-elevating highlight pieces to a full-on head-to-toe neon look. With the focus mostly on neon orange, yellow and lime hues, a variety of striking designs emerged, from casual athleisure pieces to stunning evening gowns. There is no denying that neon colours will become a staple in any fashionista’s summer closet.

Pattern Mix

‘The more, the better’ rage seems to continue with the trend of combining patterns in a statement-making way. Whether they opted for graphic shift dresses paired with logoed tights, floral summer dresses worn with fur leopard coats or a mashed-up array of checkered prints in various shades, designers have truly gone all out this season. Surprisingly layered proportions and patterns and boldly mixed ensembles are surely a trend worth watching out for this season.

Monochromatic Looks

As it turns out, outfit planning has become incomparably easier this season, as the monochromatic look trend rises in popularity. Forget about the usual neutral-coloured monochromatic outfit, this season is all about matching colours. Apart from complimenting colours, designers also opted for completely matching prints, not only on clothing pieces but shoes and accessories as well. Just choose your favourite pair of flattering biker jeans, pair them with a perfectly matching top, opt for shoes and a bag in the same hue, and you will have already mastered the hottest trend this season.

Tie Dye Accents

Taking inspiration from previous decades, tie-dye prints are making a big comeback this season, and they are reaching new heights. From a direct homage to the free-spirited ‘70s vibe to a more modern and delicate ombre approach, this trend was seen all over the runways this month. Focusing mostly on shirts and sweaters, a few interesting tie-dye examples appeared in the form of paper bag trousers and maxi skirts, as well as some intricate outerwear pieces. With a variety of different interpretations available, anyone can dabble in this popular trend.

Great Evening wear

The phrase ‘go big or go home’ seems to have taken a literal meaning when it comes to evening wear this season. Designers have turned up the volume and opted for big ruffles galore in taffeta and chiffon. There is no doubt that formal events will evolve from toned-down elegance into a display of captivatingly designed pieces in the months to come.
